The first grand activity of the Santa High School Batch 1977 Alumni Association (SHS’77AA) Inc. was of utmost importance. It mounted up the first grand reunion of fellow alumni members from Batch 1977 of Santa High School after its successful incorporation as a non-stock, non-profit organization duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission last 19 September 2011. It was held last 10 December 2011 at Alad Bar and Resort located at Naguillan, Caoayan, Ilocos Sur.
Alumni members and their families met and mingled on this occasion. Everyone was eager as they witness Batch 1977 alumni members inducted into the association. Members of the executive board took center-stage and took their oath of office. Ramon C. Balallo was inducted as association president with Zeny L. Buenavista as vice-president, Cres B. Velasco as secretary, Emy B. Balete as assistant secretary, Vangie Burgos-Corpuz as treasurer, Fe Bragado-Mapp as assistant treasurer, Armando G. Tolentino as auditor, Chelie B. Batin and Erlinda Baña-Aquino as Business Managers, and Angie Rapir-Dejeron and Aurelia Balallo-Cardenas as public relations officers.
In his short message after taking his oath of office, Ramon C. Balallo reiterated the thrusts of the organization. He made clear that the association shall work together where the common good of the members is the priority.
Intermission numbers were provided by alumni members, family members and friends who also partook in a modest dinner. Everyone enjoyed the parlor games. The executive officers of the Santa High School Batch 1977 Alumni Association (SHS’77AA) Inc. also handed out baskets of goodies and gifts to the alumni-members and their families in the spirit of the coming Christmas season.
A short general membership meeting preceded these events. The members discussed priority undertakings and future projects in line with the organization’s mission and vision.
The successful reunion of alumni members was witnessed by Mr. Roland De Castro, Mrs. Marilou De Casro, Mrs. Asuncion Bello, Mrs. Teresita Bueno, Mrs. Marcelina Duro-Bernasol and Mrs. Visitacion Bulseco who were former teachers of Batch 1977 at Santa High School.
