RE│UNITED

Members of the Santa High School Batch 1977 Alumni Association (SHS’77AA) Inc. gathered in Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur last 21 April 2012 for a summer homecoming reunion. Held at a beach hut at Nalvo, the venue was by invitation of former Santa High School teacher Ms. Marcelina Duro-Bernasol. Former high school teacher Mrs. Chuchi Bello was present to join the merry-making. Alumni-members were eager to welcome first-time attendees and those who traveled long-distances.

Delegates from Metro Manila led by SHS’77AAI vice-president Zeny L. Buenavista arrived together with Angie Rapir-Dejeron, Melinda Advincula and Alice Bello. Erlina Aragon-Nerida and Presmelito Villanueva also traveled from Manila. Aristotle Burgonio came all the way from General Santos City in Mindanao. First-time attendee Joseph Crisanto Martinez showed up after more than thirty-four (34) years of absence.

Seafood dominated the lunch table. There were fish, crabs, shrimps, sea urchins, octopus and fresh seaweeds. The summer heat fueled the camaraderie as batch-mates enjoyed the day being together either swimming, catching up on news about individual endeavors, the boisterous laughter remembering the past exploits together at Santa High School, sharing the microphone for a song at the videoke machine, taking photographs or sharing bottles of wine and liquor.

The weather was scorching hot. Everyone was on fire. (In a nice way to say the least.)
